Who doesn’t love a beach vacation? The long lazy days in the sun, refreshing dips in the water, and then exciting nights out drinking and dancing. It’s the ultimate indulgent vacation. But what if you want to maximize your time spent enjoying yourself and not have to run back to the hotel room?
We are here to show you how to take your look straight from the beach to the bar, so you can get every ounce of enjoyment from your vacation (and look good doing it).
Pack the Essentials

If you’re headed out from your hotel to the beach for the day there are a few things you should consider tossing into your day bag. As a traveler, you should always pack wisely to optimize your space. Pick a cute carry on and it can be your beach bag!
For a day at the beach we recommend the following essentials:
- Sunscreen (for body and face)
- A stylish and sun-shielding hat
- Reusable water bottle
- Clean and dry undergarments
This will give you all the basics to ensure that you stay hydrated, safe from the sun, and ready to shift from day to night effortlessly.

- The Bodysuit Theory

Have you ever put on a bodysuit and just felt so sleek and put together? With the fabric hugging your body, there is no room for bunching fabric or untidy lines, just a perfect look. Well, what is a one-piece bathing suit but a bodysuit? Pack a nice pair of jean shorts, wrap skirt, or even some cute overalls and you’ll be able to hop into your night out.
- Made For TV Resort Wear
Everyone went crazy for the latest season of The White Lotus. The popular show delivered their usual quirky cast of characters with unique style that are so fun to try to emulate.
Our favorite example from this series is Aimee Lou Wood’s character, Chelsea. She gives off such a free-spirited and care-free air while still looking utterly fabulous. Costume designer Alex Bovaird based the character’s looks on real traveling girls she met who were venturing around Southeast Asia. Perfecting Chelsea’s look is all about not being perfect at all. Don’t worry about perfectly matching: embrace beachy waves, wear personal jewelry, and don’t be afraid to DIY it a bit.
- The Festival Girl’s Cousin
Do you love also going to music festivals? Or just love the fun looks that crop up on your FYP when Coachella happens? Taking cues from festival-wear is a great way to curate outfits that move seamlessly from the beach to the bar. The festival girl is all about having fun, showing off, and not being afraid to express herself.
Toss a denim vest over your bikini, tie on a long fringe skirt, or use a scarf as a top. The festival girl is also partially dressed for practicality and comfort, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be super cute while doing it.
- Chic & Simple

Maybe you just want to keep things chic, simple, and to the point. You’re more into the ‘clean girl’ aesthetic but you also don’t want to have to go back to the hotel to take an “everything” shower. We’ve also thought of some tips for you.
Use the water to your advantage! Bring along a brush and some gel and you’ll have a cute slicked back bun in no time. As for the outfit? Wear a simple linen or cotton flowy dress that allows you to feel free and comfortable. A big floppy hat can pull together the whole look.
- Sporty & Spicy
Are you spending your beach days diving into the sand to spike a ball in volleyball, or catching some big waves with your board? We recommend covering up for your well-deserved drink with some cute soft shorts or snapaway pants. Beach waves always look cute coming out of a baseball cap, and the freckles you get in the sun are the best accessory.
No matter your personal style, there is a way to seamlessly transition from a fun day at the beach to an unforgettable night out!
Pack Your Bags, But Don’t Leave Your Style Behind

Personal style is an extension of your personality, and we always have more fun when we are feeling our best. So bring that sexy bra that makes you feel like a goddess! Or the flowy dress that makes you feel oh-so comfortable. Whatever your style is, there is a way to adapt it for a full day of vacation.
