The COVID-19 pandemic has completely changed the way we live. In the past two years, we have all been forced to change a ton about our lives and since a significant number of us spent such a large amount of the last year isolated at home, gone were the times of business relaxed wear for the workplace and dressy outfits for night out.
Instead, we turned our heads towards comfort and safety, from cozy sweatshirts to well-fitted sneakers. And alas, how can we forget our most favourite accessory AKA facemasks. I am sure so far, we all know they’re here to stay for a while. But have you all noticed one thing? Sustainable fashion trends in wardrobe include using recycled materials, upcycling old clothes, and buying less, but better-quality pieces. It looks like the trend forecasters worked day and night even during the pandemic since we have more trends now than ever! And to be honest, it truly feels like my pre-pandemic wardrobe really needs a makeover because I don’t ever want to be seen wearing skinny jeans again.
Here, I will be suggesting some biggest hits of the year so you can sit back, relax and order them all on your fingertips because trust me! The Gen-Z girls have left us no choice.
1. Oversized box fitted Jackets
-If you’re someone like me who stays away from cropped jackets as much as possible then this one’s for you. They’re everywhere and plus point, they offer right blend of comfort, trends and practicality. Pair them up with tights, baggy pants or colour coordinate them with a dress, almost anything. The classic colours like black, beige & white will never go out of style with such jackets.
2. Bright baguette bags
-It’s high time you ditch your sling bags and get back to baguette bags like in the early 20’s. Young girls have been going bananas for this one and I get why! Those of you who are a little lost, baguette bags are well structured and have a short shoulder strap. Baguette bags are a stylish and versatile addition to any winter wardrobe, adding a touch of glamour to even the simplest outfits. None of the iconic Carrie Bradshaw looks will be complete without her impeccable baguette bag collection. These are your go to in the post pandemic world so get your hands on them as soon as possible!
3. White Sneakers
-Yes you heard that right! White sneakers are back in trend and they’re definitely here to stay for a while since they have an unbottled charm like no other. So you can definitely skip wearing your heels that make your feet unconscious after every night out. White sneakers are a staple in the outfit game and can be dressed up or down for any occasion. There’s a reason they keep coming back in trend and that is, the utmost comfort it provides so you’d definitely want to stock on those before the next lockdown.
4. Tie-dyed clothing
-Tie-dye made its way into our lives during the initial days of the pandemic when everyone was looking for ways to entertain themselves. Not only was every Instagram small business selling the tie-dye kit, we saw everyone flaunting their oversized tie-dye T-shirts, sneakers and loungewear. It’s been two years and the scenario in the fashion world is pretty much still the same. It’s a perfect way to jazz up your plain outfit.
5. Pantone’s very peri AKA everyone’s favourite purple
-Pantone recently announced their colour of the year 2022; Very Peri which is dynamic blue hue with a slight violet red undertone, in other words the purple you’d love. It’s completely a gen-z colour and I’m sure you’ve spotted a lot of the kids flaunting their baggy jeans and baguettes in a similar tone.
6. Oversized shirts
-If you’re someone like me who doesn’t experiment much with bottom wear willingly then keep reading. A perfect oversized shirt can really change the game of your outfit. Go for a striped fabric or stick to the classics, white or blue and you’ll never disappoint yourself. Pair them up with baggy jeans and some white sneakers and you’ll find yourself extremely trendy and on fleek! As you should be.
7. Blazers
-A little tough on your pockets but a perfect investment! Blazers are your go-to to be known as the fashion gal. It is definitely one of the most wearable trend of 2022 as it melts both, male & female genders into one. Pair them up with trousers, shorts, skirts or literally anything you like to boost your drip. You’ll still look like someone who knows fashion from head to toe.
8. Corsets Corsets and Corsets
-Corsets saw a big hit in the early 2021 and you can mark my words that the young girls are not going to let them go so easily. Strapless tops have been in trend since some time now but they can never match the elegance of a corset. Young actresses clearly do not seem to get over them. Pair them up with literally anything and you’ll not disappoint. Oh and also definitely seek help of Instagram stores since you’ll find many who make them.
